Kremlin Set

It was 'a dream come true' as Mr. Rolf Schnyder, President of Ulysse Nardin, emphasized in his opening speech.

120 Presidential guards in their entire regalia, complemented by a full brass band and 12 horses, performed a 40-minute opening. In the main square of the Kremlin directly in front of the Palace of the last Tsar, the ceremony of drills and horse dressage was performed to the changing tunes of the brass band for the assembled 400 guests.

The exhibition “History in Time” was Ulysse Nardin’s contribution towards the 200'th Anniversary of the Kremlin.

To honor the Kremlin on its 200th Anniversary Ulysse Nardin added the most refined cloisonné timepiece ever made: the greatly applauded St. Basil in the Red Square.

It takes the artist in Switzerland one full month to complete each enamel cloisonné dial. The St. Basil Red Square comes in a blue multi-layer Egg of the Tsars designed by Ulysse Nardin but hand made by Andrei Ananov, Russian artist in St. Petersburg. A perfect amalgamation of Swiss and Russian culture and art. The egg is decorated with diamonds showing the Cathedral St. Basil and the gates and walls of the Kremlin.
